Hello Everyone
Its a new month, a new challenge, and a new name!! The photo op challenge is now know as the Altered Photo Challenge. This is what the challenge is all about..very simply, make your layout as usual but ALTER your photo in some way..then describe what you did to alter your photo and post a link back to this thread. Easy as pie and everyone learns something new! When you complete the challenge, I have a little posting gift for you. Since I'm going to be a great grandmother again in August, I've got babies on the brain..lol. I used a kit by KimB Softly Sweet to make some picture frames. There are 2 lace overlays..white and ecru..also included are some baby word art phrases..Hope you enjoy it.

This sounds like oodles of fun! I'm in!

As a mom with teen boys...the last thing I have is babies on the brain, but not discounting the "someday" factor. Tee Hee! I also have some baby pictures stashed away here I could surely use your lovely PB on!! Congratulations Jazzy on the brand new ( coming soon) Great-Grandbaby! I cannot even fathom how wonderful that must be!! Whoo HOO!

Happy GG-Baby!

congrats on the future baby in your life. Pretty soon, you won't have time to do anything except spend time with all of them. And that is the most important thing to do.

Ok Jazz, guess that you and Michelle were on the same wave length this month. Found hers first and made this for Scrapbook Max July Designers challenge.

Extracted the photo and then applied the plastic wrap effect to it.

Thanks for this challenge Jazzy and also for your lovely PB. These birds are so beautiful and have such a gentle sound when they call - unlike the raucous squawks of the white cockatoos which we also have in large numbers around here

I was not sure where to put the photo so I just put it here

Hi ladies, this is just a quick note.
We were notified the other day that Jazz has been hospitalized again, and is in the ICU. She hasnt abandoned her challenge she is just not able to be here right now.

Please say a quick prayer for her speedy recovery, and I know she is grateful to those of you that have participated so far!

thanks!

I'm so sorry to hear about Jazzy's illness. I pray she gets better soon.

Here is my submission, Sand Castle (http://digiscrapobsession.net/pics/showphoto.php?photo=4546). I took this set of photos of my big boys making a sand castle, complete with large rocks providing the structure for the main tower. Afterward, I discovered I had used a "sunset" setting on my camera, and all the photos were tinted red. I used PSE 6 to tone down the red color, then altered the levels, brightness, etc. to achieve more natural colors.

Here's mine, Jazz! I used one version of the Orton effect on the extraction of my grandson. Here's the steps I followed.
1. extract portion of photo
2. Make copy of layer 1
3. on the copy layer, go to Filter>Bur>Gausian blur set at radius 10
4. change blend mode of copy layer to Darken
5. Click control>L to get to levels and adjust the outside markers first. Use the middle marker to adjust how much of the effect is used.
6. Merge layers.

The big photo is cut with a photomask and I aged the background photo in the LO. First I blended the photo with the light paper in the Wild Blackberries Kit using Blending Mode: Luminosity making it a nice sepia tone. Then I used the overlay in Creased And Cracked Plopper Plus to get grungy edges. I also applied some inner glow in light brown color to the overlay.
